The Kardashians almost didn’t have a cousin named Stormi.

Kylie Jenner revealed in a James Charles makeup tutorial on YouTube that it took her a while to choose that “retro” moniker for Stormi Webster, her 8-month-old baby girl with Travis Scott. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star announced the birth Feb. 6 without noting a name.

Turns out, even Jenner didn’t realize that she and Scott would go with Stormi — which she insisted that Scott wrongly believes he picked — for a while. She thought it would be something similar.

“I was just looking at nature names, like weather and earth inspired,” Jenner said. “Willow was on there,” but that was no good because family friend Willow Smith has that name. “Storm was on there — just Storm. And then I was like, I kinda want -ie like me, so then I did Stormie with -ie.”

Jenner then did what any mom — well, any mom who has the resources that a cosmetics empire and a reality TV franchise will afford you — would do. She stocked up on things for her future daughter.

“I mean, I bought custom things for her that said her name, -ie. I bought her the blocks, Stormie, -ie,” Jenner said.

“I didn’t fully choose her name; I wanted to have a week of just me and her to see if I wanted to change it,” Jenner said. “Because I had one other name in mind, but Stormie always felt like her name from when she was in the womb. It’s almost like she chose her name.”

Then it was time.

“When they called me from the birth certificate office, and I was finalizing the name, they were like, ‘How do you want to spell it?’” Jenner recalled. “And I was like, ‘S-T-O-R-M-I,’ and they were like, ‘You sure?’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah, just an i.’ Literally right then and there, I just changed it to an i. Then I hung up the phone and I was like, ‘Damn, guess that’s her name.’”

Jenner could have another shot at choosing a baby name, since she noted that she’d like to have another daughter.

“I want seven girls and then, like, maybe I’ll consider a boy,” she joked.
