Lady Gaga Announces ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ Companion Album, ‘Harlequin’
Lady Gaga announced that she’s releasing a new album sooner than anticipated.
The Grammy-winning singer revealed she would be dropping a companion album for Joker: Folie à Deux titled Harlequin, which will be released Sept. 27 and include 13 tracks.

Gaga had previously teased a surprise project she was working on, in addition to her upcoming seventh studio album.
The artist had been teasing the announcement of news with cryptic posts on her social media accounts for the last few days. The first one read, “I’m ready for my interview,” followed by posts noting, “Don’t tell me what to wear,” “No duct tape no mission,” “Moondust gets everywhere” and, finally, “Still not October.”
In its Harlequin tracklist preview, Spotify shared the names of all of the songs, including “Good Morning,” “Get Happy (2024),” “Oh, When the Saints,” “World on a String,” “That’s Entertainment,” “Smile,” “The Joker” and “Folie à Deux,” among others.
In Todd Phillips’ upcoming Joker musical sequel, Gaga takes on the role of Harley Quinn, starring opposite Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker.
Earlier this month, the Oscar-nominated actress opened up about how her portrayal of the character was personal to her.
“Harley Quinn is a character people know from the ether of pop culture,” she told Vogue. “I had a different experience creating her, namely my experience with mania and chaos inside — for me, it creates a quietness. Sometimes women are labeled as these overly emotional creatures and when we are overwhelmed we are erratic or unhinged. But I wonder if when things become so broken from reality, when we get pushed too far in life, what if it makes you … quiet?”
The musician recently dropped a single with Bruno Mars called “Die With a Smile” and has revealed that her upcoming album, which is simply being referred to as LG7 right now, would be released in full in February. The first single from the pop album will drop sometime in October.
