Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars Promise to Stay ‘Til the World Ends on New Duet ‘Die With a Smile’
Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars have finally released “Die With a Smile,” the new single they’ve been teasing over the past week.
Gaga and Mars started hinting that the duet was coming by wearing each other’s merch in their social media posts. They officially announced it Thursday on Instagram with a post that shows the two of them in matching blue-and-red, Western-themed outfits. Gaga also teased her seventh studio album in the caption, noting that the song would be tiding fans over until then.

On the song, the duo’s soaring vocals are on full display as they sing the chorus: “If the world was ending I’d wanna be next to you/If the party was over and our time on Earth was through/I’d wanna hold you just for a while and die with a smile.”
It’s been a few years since either of them has released new music. Mars’ last solo album was 2016’s 24k Magic. He linked up with Anderson .Paak for 2021’s An Evening With Silk Sonic. Gaga’s last studio album was 2020’s Chromatica. She has been focusing on her film career the past few years, starring in 2021’s House of Gucci and filming Joker: Folie à Deux, which comes out later this year.
Back in March, Gaga shared a post on her birthday that said she was in a good place and working on new music. “Today has been so special — I can’t remember a time I was so happy on my bday. I am in love with my best friend, my family and friends are loving and kind and healthy,” Gaga wrote. “I feel like my heart is bursting with gratitude for my own health and music — I am writing some of my best music in as long as I can remember.”
