Lainey Wilson Reveals Someone Spit on Her Mid-Concert Last Year: 'I Saw It Coming Through the Air'
"I thought about gettin' down there and findin' whoever it was, but I didn't," Wilson recently told 'Taste of Country Nights on Demand'
Don't spit on Lainey Wilson!
In a new interview with Taste of Country Nights on Demand, the 32-year-old Grammy winner revealed an audience member spit on her during a concert last year — and she shared some very specific details.
"Last year, when we were on our headlining tour, when we were just on a club tour, somebody spit on me, on stage," said Wilson. "I thought about gettin' down there and findin' whoever it was, but I didn't. I kept rolling. I just kept rolling."
The moment left the "Hang Tight Honey" singer-songwriter with a few thoughts. "First of all, I was like, 'Why in the world would you buy a ticket and then go spit on somebody?'" she recalled. "But also, there's some mean people in the world. Also, they could have just been drunk and just being silly."
One specific element of the incident was especially "weird" for Wilson, who added, "I saw it coming through the air. It was like I made eye contact with the spit, and it just lands on me and I'm just like, (sings) 'I got a heart like a truck.' That's how I felt."

The country star, who's currently on tour in support of her new Whirlwind album, is pretty good at handling unexpected moments during her concerts.
During a July 20 performance at Faster Horses Music Festival in Brooklyn, Michigan, Wilson experienced a wardrobe malfunction and split her pants before quickly changing into another pair for the rest of the show.
"Y'all just about got a real show," she said of her gaffe. "A real show!"
While Wilson continued on with the show, she understandably couldn't stop thinking about what happened. "You can't make that up! I'd have never known had my people back here not seen it," she said. "There's a first time for everything, and I'm glad it was y'all that I split my pants wide open in front of."
One day after the Michigan concert, the "Watermelon Moonshine" performer made further jokes on Instagram, sharing a video of herself jump-squatting in a pair of pants to test them out.
"adding this into my routine before a show so my britches don't rip like they did last night at faster horses," she wrote in the caption.
