Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent's ex Randall Emmett was a wealthy man when they met in 2015. In September 2021, he was worth a whopping $20 million, but his net worth has drastically decreased since then. Now, Hulu is set to release The Randall Scandal: Love, Loathing and Vanderpump documentary in May 2023, which will expose his ongoing financial woes – including more than 30 lawsuits against him. Keep reading to learn how the film producer’s net worth changed over the years.

What Is Randall Emmett's Net Worth?

As of 2023, Randall’s net worth decreased by 19.5 million to $500,000, per Celebrity Net Worth.

What Is Randall Emmett’s Job?

After starting his career as an intern for producer Jerry Bruckheimer and working with major talent agency International Creative Management, Randall became actor Mark Wahlberg's assistant — which was his true gateway into the industry. Fun fact: Through this connection, the Florida native is said to be the inspiration for the character Turtle on Entourage, which Wahlberg produced.

In 1998, Randall launched Emmett/Furla Oasis Films (EFO Films) alongside producer George Furla, a former hedge fund executive, and Oasis Films, a Dubai-based financial holding company. The company produced its first film in 2000 and has since found a very smart and inventive business model that has made them more than $1.2 billion in worldwide revenue.

Oasis Films produces movies on small budgets in tax-incentive-friendly countries outside of the United States. The movie is later sold primarily overseas, as well as through on-demand streaming services in the U.S. The main component of this profitable model is that the films usually star older action stars — including legends like Bruce Willis, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Steven Seagal or Sylvester Stallone — who take a large salary for a minor amount of screentime.

He also produced some largely popular blockbuster films, including Silence and The Irishman and executively produced 50 Cent's Starz drama Power from 2014 to 2020 when the series ended.

More recently, Randall launched his directorial debut when he directed the 2021 screen adaptation of Midnight in the Switchgrass. The movie starred Megan Fox, Machine Gun Kelly and Bruce Willis.

When Was Randall Emmett on ‘Vanderpump Rules’?

The filmmaker started appearing on Vanderpump Rules alongside his longtime love in February 2020 during season 8. Randall has become a regular fixture on the Bravo series, especially since he and Lala welcomed their first child, daughter Ocean, in March 2021.

However, the pair split by December 2021, Us Weekly confirmed, once cheating rumors on Randall's part circulated. Lala explained how she “put two and two together” about his “double life” during Pump Rules’ season 9 reunion special in January 2022.

They are still in a custody battle over Ocean.

What Other Ways Does Randall Make Money?

The filmmaker has been playing poker since 2012. He won several tournaments, including two wins in $10,000 buy-in high roller tournaments at Aria Resort and Casino.

Over the course of his poker career, Randall has made regular TV appearances on PokerGO shows including Poker After Dark and Friday Night Poker. He has more than $590,000 in live tournament winnings as of February 2021.

Why Did Randall’s Net Worth Decrease?

Randall’s earnings dropped dramatically in 2021, which came to light when he cited “great financial hardship” while filing to lower his custody payments to ex-wife Ambyr Childers in March 2021, according to legal documents obtained by Us Weekly that October.

As part of their previous custody agreement, the film mogul had to maintain a bank account for Ambyr to use for their daughters London and Rylee’s expenses. The account was required to have a $50,000 monthly minimum balance. This was in addition to his monthly child support payments of $5,250.

In the 2021 filing, Randall asked to terminate the bank account part of their custody agreement. He claimed he would “fall deeper and deeper into debt and will be forced to file for bankruptcy” if he had to continue making deposits to the account on top of his other “significant debts,” which included $500,000 owed to the IRS and loans to a production company.

“I only produced one movie in 2020, as opposed to several as in normal years, therefore, my income has been drastically reduced and I am having Iiquidity issues,” the Midnight in Switchgrass director stated in the papers. “The state of film production right now due to [COVID-19] protocols is tenuous at best. Productions can be shut down at any time. Further, I am not sure additional projects that I have Iined up will proceed. My income is far too uncertain during this pandemic.”

In response, Ambyr alleged her ex-husband had “remained completely silent as to his position on what guideline child support should be.” The case was settled in June 2021.

Randall and Ambyr were married from 2009 to 2017, and he and Lala went public with their romance the same year as his divorce.
