Lana Del Rey Channels ‘Sinister Mother Nature’ in Alexander McQueen Dress With 3D Tree Branches at Met Gala 2024
Lana Del Rey arrived at the 2024 Met Gala celebrating “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” at te Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday in New York City wearing a custom look from Alexander McQueen.
The “Margaret” singer attended the highly anticipated red carpet event in a sculptural gown that used three-dimensional tree branch adornments to add texture and drama throughout the ensemble. She referred to it as a “sinister mother nature” look on the red carpet. In addition to the dark branches crawling up along the dress’ silhouette, they were used as a base for a canopy-inspired headpiece constructed with the same beige tulle used throughout the rest of the garment.

Despite Del Rey’s look having been custom-designed for Monday’s event, the integration of texture and the use of eye-catching design details is reminiscent of Alexander McQueen’s fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection. Within the line, the brand presented a number of looks designed in exaggerated silhouettes and constructed in whimsical colorways.
For her styling, Del Rey wore her long dark tresses off her face and behind her shoulders in a loose wave pattern. Additionally, the star’s makeup look pulled colors from the neutral woodsy tones in her dress with a dark brown lip color and soft caramel eye shadow.

The singer was dressed by longtime stylist Molly Dickson, who has worked with Del Rey on several previous occasions. Most recently, Dickson styled the star in two custom outfits from Dolce & Gabbana for her Coachella 2024 weekend one headliner performance. Del Rey’s looks consisted of a baby blue draped jersey dress completely embellished with Swarovski crystals and a long blue gown entirely embroidered in Swarovski crystal chains.
