Lana Del Rey Is the Tree in ‘The Garden of Time’ at the 2024 Met Gala
Lana Del Rey has not attended the Met Gala since 2018, but five years later, the singer has finally made her grand return. For the event’s “The Garden of Time” dress code, she wore a beige strapless gown covered by twigs, complete with a crown of branches covered with a dramatic veil. She carried a rose in one of her hands, too. For beauty, she kept her hair down in brunette waves and wore a lined nude lip.
She was accompanied by Seán McGirr, the new creative director of Alexander McQueen.
For the “Say Yes To Heaven” singer’s last Met Gala, she nailed the theme of “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” in a look designed by Gucci. She wore an off-white long-sleeve dress embellished with a gold floral detailing and the front of her skirt slit down the middle to reveal her delicate lace underskirt. At the center of her chest was a large, gold Catholic Sacred Heart pendant with several daggers going through it. She completed her look with an intricate, light-blue feather halo-headpiece.
At the time, she coordinated with former Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele and Jared Leto, whose suits featured similarly detailed designs with added shades of blue.
This Met Gala Monday is an eventful day for Del Rey. Earlier in the day, she announced her first-ever stadium headlining gig. On June 20, the star will be performing a one-night-only concert at Fenway park in Boston. This comes after Del Rey saw great success headlining this year’s Coachella.
