LAPD called to Billie Lourd's home over a gunshot fired during a worker dispute

Billie Lourd’s L.A. estate has been the scene of a crime investigation.

On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Police Department was called to the Beverly Hills compound — currently under construction as the actress combines the abutting homes of her late mother, Carrie Fisher, and grandmother Debbie Reynolds — for a dispute involving a worker and in which a gunshot was fired. No one was injured and Lourd, a new mom, reportedly wasn’t home at the time.

TMZ had more information from police sources. According to the outlet, the argument was between two construction workers, “one of whom had been fired.” The fired worker allegedly pulled out a rifle, aimed it at the worker he was fighting with, but then fired at the ground before fleeing in a car.

The news outlet reported that the Booksmart, American Horror Story and Star Wars actress “wasn't home at the time of the incident.” Her rep has not responded to Yahoo Entertainment’s request for comment.

Lourd is a new mother, welcoming her first child with fiancé Austen Rydell in September.

After Fisher and Reynolds died within days in 2016, the properties, which are next door to one another, were initially to be sold, but Lourd decided to keep them. She told Town & Country, “I went back and forth on it, but it’s so magical. It’s such a special place.”

Construction has been underway this year to combine the two homes.
