Larry Birkhead Discusses Anna Nicole Smith and Raising Their Daughter

Larry Birkhead sat down with Steve Harvey and after briefly talking about the passing of Anna Nicole Smith, he discussed what life is like raising their 9-year-old daughter, Dannielynn.

Anna Nicole Smith died in 2007 and after a tedious custody battle Birkhead was granted custody of Dannielynn. And being a single parent hasn’t been easy for Birkhead.

“It is tough raising a little girl without a mom because you always want to make sure you are doing the right things and things that a mom would choose but a dad might not choose,” he said.

Birkhead also revealed how it can be emotional when Dannielynn asks about her mother, especially after seeing her pop-up in the tabloids. And while is Dannielynn and Birkhead’s story is born out of tragedy, they are still optimistic about the future.

“Things could have turned out a lot different and I think in a sad tale this is kinda the happiest ending you could have,” Birkhead said.
