Larry David tangles with Judge Judy on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'
Judge Judy Sheindlin guest-starred on Curb Your Enthusiasm as Larry David sued the former owner of his home for stealing his plant.
Rose Shapiro owned the home before Larry purchased it five years ago. She left behind a ficus plant, which Larry allowed to wither and brown.
In hopes of reviving the plant, Rose used her old key to enter the house and steal the plant. So Larry sued her on Judge Judy, and she countersued Larry for “plant abuse.”
Larry’s friend Leon tried to argue that the plant was not in distress, despite being brown. Leon, who is black, said, “This plant is like a person. Certain parts of the year, that plant turns darker, like myself. When I go to Florida, I turn a little darker, a shade darker. Most of the time I carry myself in a mocha tone, but there are some parts of the year when I’m more mahogany.”
Much to Larry’s surprise, Judge Judy said, “I can only say to you, sir, that anyone who would neglect a plant in that fashion doesn’t deserve to have it. Your case is dismissed.”
Curb Your Enthusiasm airs Sundays at 10 p.m. on HBO.
