Lashana Lynch plays a British intelligence officer chasing Eddie Redmayne as an elusive assassin in the official trailer for The Day of the Jackal thriller series that dropped on Wednesday.

Using disguises and fake passports to carry off his latest hit, the cold-blooded Jackal (Redmayne) sparks a massive police operation across Europe to find him. But the chameleon-like hitman meets his match in Bianca (Lynch) as she refuses to back down in her cat-and-mouse chase, even as she leaves a trail of destruction in her wake and her law enforcement superiors look to call off the pursuit.

“I will find him. And I will kill him, myself,” Bianca insists at one point in the trailer as she looks to outsmart and take out the Jackal amid gunfire, explosions and car chases – only to land in the cunning killer’s rifle crosshairs.

Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, úrsula Corberó, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lia Williams, Khalid Abdalla, Eleanor Matsuura, Jonjo O’Neill, Nick Blood, Sule Rimi and Florisa Kamara round out the ensemble cast for the original series.

Executive producers include Ronan Bennett, Gareth Neame, Nigel Marchant, Sam Hoyle, Sue Naegle, Brian Kirk, Redmayne and Lynch. Produced by Carnival Films, part of Universal International Studios, Comcast’s NBCUniversal will handle global TV distribution of the series.
