Late Night TV Hosts Hit Donald Trump Where It Hurts
Politics continue to dominate the late night TV landscape. Every monologue is filled with jokes about Donald Trump and his administration, and it is impossible to keep up with it all. So we rounded up the top five political punchlines of the week.
Big news this week was when Trump’s budget came out showing massive cuts to many departments, including the Environmental Protection Agency. In a speech, Trump talked about having “really clean coal.” On The Late Show, Stephen Colbert quipped, “I know clean coal sounds like an oxymoron, but so does President Trump.”
Another big story lately was the failed health care plan the Republicans put out, and on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Seth pointed out that President Trump told Senators that they would make a deal on health care because, “That’s an easy one.” Seth then added, “OK, well, just make sure your health care plan covers amnesia.”
Meanwhile, Conan hit Trump below the belt when he said, “It’s come out that President Trump has spent nearly one-third of his presidency in a Trump-branded property,” adding, “And folks, that’s not even counting his wife, Melania.”
