Latto, Megan Thee Stallion, Flo Milli Take ‘Em To Church In “Sunday Service (Remix)”
Latto has tapped Megan Thee Stallion and Flo Milli for a remix of her viral “Sunday Service” track and video, which was released on Friday (June 7). The song features the ladies taking their opps to church as they clear the air on bitter rivals, thirsty men, feeling sexy in their skin, and getting to the bag.
The “Sunday Service” video treatment takes footage directly from Meg’s Hot Girl Summer Tour with GloRilla. The visuals feature some behind-the-scenes clips of Glo and Latto’s dance battle and the ladies playing drinking games as they have a blast in the name of rap girl unity.
As for their rivals, it was anything but fun, games, and unity as the ladies took some time in the song to send a couple of shots at several unnamed figures. Latto spits the song’s chorus first, rehashing her bars from the original “Sunday Service,” which was widely speculated to be aimed at Ice Spice, and doubles down on the bars “Every time y’all book me with them h*es, it’s gon’ be big drama (Grrah),” using Spice’s ad-lib to mock her. Flo Milli then takes the microphone and dishes a few lines about taking other women’s men and jabbing at those who play “tough online.”
Megan Thee Stallion closes out the posse cut and mentions her male rap counterparts who may dislike her while their significant others still run her streams up regardless. Meg later references her successful venture of going independent ever since she got out her deal with 1501 Entertainment, rapping, “Everything Megan put out, I own it/ I don’t care who you think hotter than me/ Ain’t a bi**h stepped I ain’t smokin’.”
The original “Sunday Service” was released in February and peaked at No. 100 on Billboard’s 100 and No. 46 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Her original video also prided itself on female rap unity with appearances from Karrahbooo, Anycia, and a whole scene paying homage to a slew of women in rap showing pictures of Queen Latifah, Megan, Lil’ Kim, Cardi B, and even Ice Spice — even though the song is mostly Spice diss.
