Latto Plays With the Workwear Trend in Platform Dsquared2 Boots at BET Experience Fan Fest 2024 in Los Angeles
More from Footwear News
Latto performed at the 2024 BET Experience Fan Fest held on Saturday in Los Angeles.
Owning the stage, the “Sunday Service” rapper laced up a pair of Dsquared2 platform ankle boots in a rugged utilitarian style. Likened to a work boot, the style featured burgundy leather uppers, matching burgundy laces, silver hardware, logo detailing on the tongues, heat-wicking shearling lining, lofty platform soles and approximately 6-inch stiletto heels. The platform booties touches on the ever-popular workwear aesthetic, bridging the gap between form and function.
The designer style seems to be a vintage one, given the silhouette is not in circulation on the brand’s official website at the moment. Similar shearling-lined styles can be found on resale websites like eBay, Poshmark, The RealReal and Vestiaire Collective.
Matching her shoes, the “Lottery” rapper wore a form-fitting red and yellow ensemble comprised of a graphic tube top with black trim and two-toned micro shorts. Opting for a little shine, Latto wore a slew of gold jewelry on her wrists and around her neck. The rapper’s look was Y2K-inspired, pulling style ques from rappers of the time like Missy Elliott, Lauryn Hill and Lil Kim. The color scheme of Latto’s look perfectly matched her designer footwear.
Latto’s shoe style is sleek and subversive. The “Muwop” singer often wears neutral and colorful heeled sandals on the red carpet from brands including Giuseppe Zanotti and Gianvito Rossi. Off-duty, she can also be seen in towering Jennifer Le platform wedges, punky Vetements boots and chunky Chanel sneakers, as well.
The BET Experience 2024 is a multi-day festival taking place from June 26 to June 30. This year’s festival will feature performances by The Roots, Common, Black Sheep, Cardi B, Gunna and Sexyy Red, along with live comedy routines from talents like Tiffany Haddish, Chris Spencer and Michael Blackson.
