Laura Dern was spotted leaving a taping of “Good Morning America” today to promote her new film “Lonely Planet” in New York. Dern was joined on the show by her co-star Liam Hemsworth to discuss the new Netflix film.
The “Jurassic Park” star opted for a bold footwear choice for the taping, stepping out in a pair of black calf-length cowboy boots. The Western style included lush black leather uppers fixed with intricate embossed detailing up the flanks. Pointed toes gave way to wedge heels standing at around 2 to 3 inches in height, offering Dern a subtle boost.
Perfect for the fall and winter seasons, cowboy boots encompass the entirety of the wearer’s feet, offering coverage from the elements and harsh terrain. The soles are durable and often non-slip, adding to the shoe’s utility. For these reasons, the shoe silhouette has remained popular over decades, beloved by ranchers, wranglers and celebrities alike.
The “Wild at Heart” actress paired her western wears with a coordinating black denim maxi dress. The long-sleeved garment featured silver button closures and was layered overtop a bright pink ribbed turtleneck. She topped the look with a western-inspired Concho belt.
When it comes to footwear, Dern’s styles vary from sharp to whimsical. The actress often wears a range of colorful and embellished pumps and platform heels on the red carpet from an array of brands, including Stella McCartney, Jimmy Choo, Rene Caovilla and Roger Vivier. When off-duty, Dern can also be seen in lace-up sneakers by Louis Vuitton and Chloé, as well a Fendi slides and J.W. Anderson mules.
“Lonely Planet” is an upcoming Netflix romance/drama film set to release on Oct. 11. Directed by Susannah Grant about a newly single novelist who finds an unexpected connection with a younger man at a writers’ retreat in Morocco. The film enlists the help of stars like Liam Hemsworth, Laura Dern, Diana Silvers and Rachida Brakni, among others.
