Lauren London Pays Tribute to Nipsey Hussle On 5th Anniversary of His Murder: ‘Energy Never Dies’
It’s been five years since Nipsey Hussle was tragically murdered in his hometown of South Central Los Angeles on March 31, 2019.
Lauren London paid tribute to the late, great rapper in a heartfelt post to social media on the fifth anniversary of his passing, which symbolically fell on Easter Sunday (March 31).

“If you know me You know March is always tough for me 31 days of holding my breath,” she penned alongside a photo of Nip rocking a white Puma tracksuit. “This day decided to fall on Easter Sunday this 2024 Interesting…. considering your name #GodWillRise Energy never dies…. I love you. Eternal.”

London and Nipsey Hussle dated from about 2013 up until his last breath in March 2019. They share one child, a son named Kross, who was born in August 2016.
Hussle was tragically gunned down outside his Crenshaw Marathon Clothing store in March 2019. His killer, Eric R. Holder Jr., received a sentence of 60 years to life in prison after being found guilty of first-degree murder in February 2023.
Since his death, Nipsey Hussle has been honored with a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and is being memorialized in an upcoming Hulu documentary series.
Hussle’s final album, Victory Lap arrived in February 2018 and is now certified double-platinum. The critically acclaimed debut reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and was nominated for best rap album at the 2019 Grammy Awards but lost out to Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy.
