Laurie Metcalf Signs With CAA As ‘The Conners’ Heads Into Final Season

EXCLUSIVE: Laurie Metcalf has signed with CAA.

Metcalf, who stars on ABC’s The Conners, is a four-time Emmy winner and two-time Tony winner. The signing comes at a time of impending change for the actor, with The Connors recently renewed for what will be its seventh and final season. Although a premiere date hasn’t been announced, the very popular comedy is expected back sometime mid-season, probably early 2025.

Three of her four primetime Emmys were for her role in Roseanne, with her most recent win coming in 2022 for her guest appearance on Hacks. She’s been Emmy-nominated an additional eight times.

She was Oscar-nominated for 2017’s Lady Bird written and directed by Greta Gerwig, a performance that also garnered nominations from the Golden Globes, British Film Academy, Screen Actors Guild and Independent Spirt Award.

A founding member of Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago, Metcalf’s extensive and acclaimed stage career has included six Tony Award nominations and two wins (Lucas Hnath’s A Doll’s House, Part 2 in 2017 and Edward Albee’s Three Tall Women the following year). In all, she’s appeared on Broadway 10 times, most recently in Levi Holloway’s 2023 mystery chiller Grey House and Hnath’s Hillary and Clinton in 2019.

Additional film credits include the Toy Story franchise, Somewhere in Queens, Scream 2, JFK and Uncle Buck.
