'Law & Order: SVU' sneak peek: Benson's Noah dilemma
Olivia Benson always knows the right thing to do… or does she?
This week on Law & Order: SVU, Olivia (Mariska Hargitay) struggles with a big decision — but this time, it’s personal, not professional.
In this exclusive clip from the Oct. 25 episode, Olivia explains to ADA Rafael Barbara (Raúl Esparza) that a major dilemma has come up regarding her adopted son, Noah. Turns out, his long-lost grandmother (guest star Brooke Shields) has come looking for him. And she wants visitation rights.
Olivia wants to say no — and as Rafael points out, the law is on her side — but is that the correct choice?
“Is my instinct right?” she agonizes. “Am I preventing this little boy from having a relationship with the only living blood relative that he has?”
Olivia may be the best at tracking down perps, but when it comes to parenting, nothing is ever easy.
“I used to be so sure that I knew what was best for Noah,” she says. But does she now?
Law & Order: SVU airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on NBC.
