Celebrity stylist Law Roach makes runway appearance after announcing retirement
Law Roach, famed stylist to Zendaya and other celebrities, seems to be retiring.
The stylist, 44, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share that his "cup is empty," along with an image of the word "Retired."
"My Cup is empty," he wrote. "thank you to everyone who’ve supported me and my career over the years. Every person that trusted me with their image, I’m so grateful for you all."
Roach then hinted at some factors that led to his decision, without going into detail.
"If this business was just about the clothes I would do it for the rest of my life but unfortunately it’s not!" he continued. "The politics, the lies and false narratives finally got me! You win … I’m out"
USA TODAY reached out to Roach and his representative for comment.
However, a day after making his retirement post, Roach walked as a runway model in the Boss Spring/Summer 2023 show in Miami.

On social media, he also cleared up some of the rumors that spurred from his Instagram post which included whisperings that he and his partnership with Zendaya were at a crossroads.
"So y’all really think I’m breaking up with Z….. we are forever," he tweeted Wednesday.
He followed up with another tweet writing, "She’s my little sister and it’s real love not the fake industry love."
The retirement announcement came less than a week after Roach attended Versace's Fall/Winter 2023 show at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, California.
In November, the Council of Fashion Designers of America awarded Roach the inaugural stylist award. During the ceremony, Kerry Washington recounted Roach's ascent from his humble Chicago roots to inventively finding ways to dress then-up-and-coming actress Zendaya, with whom he's crafted some of the red carpet's most memorable looks.
After receiving the award, Roach, a self-proclaimed image architect, recalled how fashion designer Michael Kors invited him to attend the CFDA Awards in 2016, where he watched the show from the kitchen.

"In 2016, I was invited with Michael Kors to come to the CFDA Awards at Hammerstein Ballroom, and I sat in the kitchen, and I watched from the kitchen as the waiters served your food and served your drinks, and I just said to myself, 'One day, I'm going to be on that stage,'" an overwhelmed Roach said. "I am the example that anything is possible."
