Leah Remini Reportedly Saw the ‘Writing on the Wall’ Before Jennifer Lopez’s Marriage to Ben Affleck

There’s no bad blood here — at least not anymore. That’s reportedly what Jennifer Lopez and Leah Remini are saying behind closed doors after feuding for the last several years over J.Lo’s relationship with Ben Affleck. Remini wasn’t exactly a fan of The Town star, going back to the first time the couple dated in the early aughts.

“Jennifer wanted her friend’s support. However, Leah saw the writing on the wall and straight out told her marrying Ben was a bad idea,” a source told In Touch Weekly. The 55-year-old superstar didn’t want to hear what The King of Queens actress had to say and shut out her longtime BFF. While the women didn’t publicly air their dirty laundry, RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage hinted about their friendship status on the Las Culturistas podcast in September 2023.

Co-host Matt Rogers asked Visage, “[Leah] and J. Lo are best buds, right?”

She cryptically confirmed what had been whispered about for over a year with, “No comment.”

The rumors started when Remini skipped Lopez’s August 2022 Georgia wedding ceremony to Affleck. A TMZ source claimed that she was busy getting her daughter Sophia ready for college. However, there might have been more to the story since they weren’t spotted together during Lopez’s high-profile marriage to Affleck. Remini reportedly found her friend’s husband to be  “selfish and is not fully committed as a partner,” per Page Six.

However, they both found themselves going through a similar life event at the same time — Remini announced on Aug. 29 that she was divorcing her husband, Angelo Pagan, after 21 years of marriage. “Ironically, the timing couldn’t have been better,” the In Touch Weekly source said. “Now, they have each other to lean on.” The dynamic duo is back together, and hopefully, it will only be a matter of time before we see them having a bestie outing in LA.

And before long, they will be gushing about each other again. “It was one of those instant chemistry things, where you just feel like, ‘I love this person. I love being around this person. This person makes me laugh.” Remini shared that same love, telling the hosts on The View in 2018. “We’re very close, like sisters… But in a different way that sisters are.”
