‘The Legend of Vox Machina’ Season 3 Fiery Trailer Reveals the Crew Traveling to Hell — and Back
Buckle the f— up! The foul-mouthed adventurers of “The Legend of Vox Machina” are returning for a hellishly harrowing odyssey in Season 3 of the hit Prime Video animated fantasy series from Critical Role.
Amazon’s Prime Video released the official trailer for “Vox Machina” Season 3, which shows our heroes literally traveling to hell and back as they seek to save Exandria from Thordak, the self-anointed “Cinder King,” and battle his army of dragons and otherworldly fiends. The song “Bang Your Head,” from AWOLNATION’s new album “The Phantom Five,” is featured in the trailer (watch below).

Season 3 of “The Legend of Vox Machina” is set to premiere Oct. 3 on Amazon’s Prime Video, comprising 12 episodes, with three episodes of the hit animated fantasy-adventure series releasing every week starting Oct. 3. The series is a production of Amazon MGM Studios, Critical Role and animation house Titmouse.
Per Prime Video’s logline for Season 3: The Chroma Conclave’s path of destruction spreads like wildfire while the Cinder King hunts down Vox Machina. The lovable band of misfits must rise above their inner (and outer) demons to try and save their loved ones, the Tal’Dorei republic and all of Exandria.
“The Legend of Vox Machina” is based on Critical Role’s first D&D campaign, which the group livestreamed from 2015-17. Amazon MGM Studios has inked a multiyear exclusive overall TV and first-look film deal with Critical Role, under which it greenlit series “Mighty Nein,” based on Critical Role’s second campaign, which ran from January 2018 to mid-2021.
Season 2 of “Vox Machina” came out in January 2023. Prime Video greenlit the show’s third season the previous October, after Season 1 debuted in January 2022.
“Vox Machina” stars Critical Role founders and cast members Laura Bailey (“The Last of Us: Part II” video game), Taliesin Jaffe (“World of Warcraft”), Ashley Johnson (“The Last of Us,” “Blindspot”), Liam O’Brien (“Avengers Assemble”), Matthew Mercer (“Baldur’s Gate 3”), Marisha Ray (“Fallout 76”), Sam Riegel (“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”) and Travis Willingham (“Avengers Assemble”). The Critical Role members also serve as executive producers alongside Brandon Auman (“Star Wars: Resistance”), Chris Prynoski (“Metalocalypse”), Shannon Prynoski (“Fairfax”) and Ben Kalina (“Big Mouth”).
