I am, on a personal level, deeply thankful for the little alley-slash-side-street thingy that connects the spot where celebrities are dropped off for their appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and the actual entrance to the studio where said show is filmed. Does that sound a little strange? Perhaps. But it's true. That small stretch of the world has given me so much to be joyful about.

Just yesterday, it delivered the sunglasses-clad face of Don Johnson, objectively hot man. Before that, there was the man—the legend!—known to me only as Kimmel Mustache Guard. And now, there's Patrick Stewart, and his turtleneck, which he has deployed with all the style and grace you would expect from Patrick Stewart.

Like Rod Stewart, who also stepped out quite stylishly this week, Patrick Stewart is a Sir. He was knighted in 2010. I don't know if there's some sort of network of official Sirs that is occasionally activated, dictating that all members must step up their style game within a specific period of time—say, within five days of protocol being enacted—in order to both confound and delight people like me, who pay attention to stuff like this professionally. I doubt it. But I want to believe.

Why? Because Stewart looks great! His sweater gives that windowpane-checked suit a relaxed but still pulled-together vibe that just seems to suit the man himself perfectly. If he's part of a cabal of interconnected Brits of Note that also includes Rod Stewart, maybe there's still time to see more good stuff. Maybe Sir Elton John will pop up tomorrow rocking something truly fantastic. Or perhaps Daniel Day-Lewis will emerge from retirement in a razor sharp suit. These knights, there a lot of them! And I'll be watching them closely.
