Ahead of Cobra Kai season six’s return to Netflix for part two on Nov. 15, viewers should get ready for the caliber of black belts and karate masters at the Sekai Taikai, the global tournament, to go way up.

When Miyagi-Do competes at the Sekai Taikai in Barcelona, there’ll be new challenges and old enemies as they fight to become world champions amid the usual high school and karate school rivalries.

“The first thing that you’re going to notice is we’re not in the Valley anymore. It’s a totally different environment. The competitive space is different from previous All Valley tournaments. There’s no crowd watching. This is a karate temple that they’re going to, where the only people in attendance are black belts or karate masters,” Hayden Schlossberg, who co-created the show with Josh Heald and Jon Hurwitz, told Tudum.

The second of a three-part final season of Cobra Kai also introduces Lewis Tan (Deadpool v. Wolverine, Mortal Kombat) as Sensei Wolf, Patrick Luwis as Awel Kovacevic and Rayna Vallandingham, in her acting debut, to play Zara Malik.

The TV adaptation of the 1984 hit movie The Karate Kid also stars Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso, William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence, Martin Kove as John Kreese and Xolo Maridue?a as Miguel Diaz. The final five-episode run for Cobra Kai‘s last season is set for 2025, with no premiere date yet announced.

The series is produced by Counterbalance Entertainment. Will Smith, James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett executive produce for Westbrook Studios, along with Susan Ekins in association with Sony Pictures Television. Macchio and Zabka also serve as executive producers.
