Liam Gallagher Fronts Berghaus’ ‘Icons’ Campaign
LONDON — Britpop is making a comeback — and so is Berghaus.
Oasis’ Liam Gallagher appears in the outdoor brand’s latest campaign, “Icons,” which heralds the return of three, revamped archival styles — the Trango, Mera Peak and Lumley jackets.

“My first encounter with Berghaus was through my brother Noel. He purchased a green one in the late ‘80s and I was always pinching it off him,” Gallagher said.
“I thought to myself, ‘When I’m rich and famous I’m getting myself one.’ I finally did that, and I’ve still got it to this day. To be asked to work with them on their comeback means a lot,” the musician added.
In 1997, the “Champagne Supernova” singer finally made it, wearing his own red and blue Berghaus jacket on the opening night of the European leg of Oasis’ “Be Here Now” tour, in Oslo.
Almost 30 years later, Gallagher, photographed by Alasdair McLellan, strikes a pose in the brand’s Trango jacket, which is not unlike the Meru model he wore back in the day.
First released in 1986, the reissued Trango has the same silhouette, and new, sustainable Gore-Tex waterproofing technology.
Founded in 1966 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Berghaus specializes in mountaineering clothing. British alpinists Sir Chris Bonington and Alan Hinkes wore the brand on separate expeditions to summit Mount Everest.
In the ‘90s, the outerwear attracted a new audience, thanks in part to Gallagher. The brand took on new life as a streetwear status symbol among British ravers, and those involved in the “Madchester” music scene.
The campaign comes on the heels of the brand’s collaboration with Palace Skateboard in August. The brand said the campaign is part of its mission to reclaim its “rightful place at the heart of British streetwear.”
This is the second major fashion and outerwear campaign Liam Gallagher is appearing in this fall. Last month he linked with Stone Island, another of his favorite brands, on its fall 2025 campaign featuring key apparel and outerwear styles.
