Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy has broken her silence following his tragic death at age 31.

“Thank you for all of the kind words and love that has been sent my way. I have been at a complete loss,” she posted on her Instagram Story Friday. “Nothing about the past few days have felt real.”

“I ask and pray that you’ll give me the grace and space to navigate this in private,” she continued. “Liam, my angel. You are everything. I want you to know I loved you unconditionally and completely. I will continue to love you for the rest of my life. I love you Liam.”

Cassidy, 25, traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina, with the musician but returned to Florida solo two days before he fractured his skull and died instantly of “very serious injuries” when he fell from his third-floor hotel balcony.

Weeks earlier, the couple watched his former One Direction bandmate, Niall Horan, perform on Oct. 2.

“We’re going to Argentina,” Payne said in an Instagram Story. “One, because we want to. Two, because we want to. And three, because Niall Horan’s playing down there and I think we might just go and say hello.”

The late singer also said that he and Horan had “things to square up” because it had been a while since they last spoke to each other.

Payne and Cassidy, who had been staying at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, were together for two years.

Cassidy shared online that their stay in Buenos Aires was longer than intended, and what was supposed to be a short visit turned into a two-week vacation.

“I was so ready to leave, honestly, love South America but I hate staying in one place for too long,” Cassidy revealed in a TikTok video. “We were supposed to be there for like, five days [then] it turned into two weeks and I was just like, ‘I need to go home.’”

Cassidy admitted she left Payne in Argentina, saying she purchased a new travel pillow since the late singer used her other one.

They’d later be seen on romantic outings and at red-carpet events, including the premiere of former One Direction bandmate Louis Tomlinson’s documentary in 2023.

Cassidy revealed that she met Payne at a bar in Charleston, SC, while working as a waitress.

“On the way to work my manager texted me and was like ‘Liam Payne from One Direction is here, you’re going to be taking care of him tonight,’” she said in a TikTok video uploaded Sept. 20.

Payne repeatedly asked Cassidy to join him at his table and requested her number, according to the influencer. Eventually, they went out for lunch, bowling and a ghost tour the next day.

Before Payne’s death broke, the manager of CasaSur Palermo Hotel made an emergency call, alleging that Payne was “putting his life at risk.”

The manager, “Esteban,” claimed that Payne was destroying his hotel room and was under the influence of “drugs and alcohol.”

Payne fractured his skull and died instantly of “very serious injuries” when he fell from his third-floor hotel balcony, officials said.

First responders arrived after receiving an emergency call late on Wednesday, but medical officials stated that there was nothing they could do.

“Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life,” Buenos Aires emergency services chief Alberto Crescenti said, according to La Nacion. “Based on what the team saw, there was apparently a cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death.”

“The team could do absolutely nothing,” Crescenti continued. “There was no resuscitation because it was confirmed that he had died. The whole body had very serious injuries.”

Though officials had initially said that he had “jumped,” the autopsy report said he had fallen and Communications Director for the Buenos Aires Security Ministry Pablo Policicchio told Page Six that investigators are still working to determine if it was an accident or intentional.

The autopsy concluded his official cause of death was “polytrauma, internal and external hemorrhage,” but internal and external hemorrhages in the skull, thorax, abdomen and limbs “contributed to the mechanism of death.”

Additionally, two women had been in his room in the hours before his death.
