Leading U.K.-based distributor DCD Rights has acquired new music title “Life in Six Strings With Kylie Olsson,” which will launch next week at TV market Mipcom.

The eight-part series, described as “funny and insightful,” is produced by LISS Films. It sees TV host and music journalist Kylie Olsson take viewers into the homes and at the favorite hangouts of some of the world’s most iconic guitarists, including Motley Crue’s Mick Mars, Def Leppard’s Phil Collen and Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme.

Olsson has interviewed many of the world’s bands. During the pandemic lockdown, she started a YouTube channel and began teaching herself to play the guitar. She got in touch with many of the well-known guitarists she knew for their help and advice and so the idea for “Life in Six Strings” was born.

Each episode delves into the artist’s extensive guitar collections and their favorite hangouts, shedding light on the places where they found inspiration and honed their craft.

“This series isn’t just about the music. It’s about the passion, dedication and artistry offering viewers an unparalleled opportunity to witness these living legends in a whole new light,” said a statement.

“Sharing their love for music and their profound connection to the guitar and revealing where they come from, both sonically and geographically, has informed their music. It shows a different side of the artists that the public doesn’t often get to see—putting an emphasis on who they are as people and letting them tell their stories in their own words.”

The fourth season of “The Great Songwriters” has sold to further broadcasters including Sky New Zealand, Globo Brazil and Atoss International Japan.
