Lil Jon concert coming to Lawrence for Late Night in the Phog

LAWRENCE (KSNT) – Jayhawk fans will have a new headliner to look forward to for the upcoming Late Night in the Phog at the University of Kansas.

KU Athletics announced on Wednesday, Sept. 11 that producer, DJ and rapper Lil Jon will be the new headliner for the 40th Late Night in the Phog at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence. Lil Jon has several songs listed on Billboard’s Hot 100 including “Yeah!” and “Get Low.” He also recently appeared for Super Bowl LVIII in a surprise performance alongside other artists like Usher and Alicia Keys.

KU Athletics did not mention what happened to the previous headliner, Nelly, who was originally set to perform for Late Night in the Phog.

Late Night in the Phog is set for 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18 inside Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence. Renovations at Allen Fieldhouse are nearing completion with the addition of new audio and videoboards inside the venue to pump fans up, according to KU Athletics.

Students will be able to enter Allen Fieldhouse at 5:15 p.m. on the day of the event while the general public can get inside starting at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are required for people to attend Late Night in the Phog. Phog Fest will also be held ahead of Late Night in the Phog. Activities start at 2:30 p.m. with students and other fans being able to enjoy inflatable games, music, the Hawk Zone and food trucks.

People can find free parking starting at 2 p.m. at Lot 90 east and south of Allen Fieldhouse across Naismith Drive. Fans can also use the parking garage north of Allen Fieldhouse with hourly rates until 4 p.m., at which time parking will be $5 per car. The lower level of the garage will be reserved.
