Lil Nas X hopes kids will read 'til they can't no more when he releases 'C is for Country' on Jan. 5
The Cookie Monster famously sang "C is for Cookie."
Well, step aside, "Sesame Street." Lil Nas X has his own version for helping children learn their ABCs.
The force behind the 2019 summer smash "Old Town Road" announced Tuesday on Twitter that he is releasing a children's book titled "C is for Country."
Calling it "the best kids book of all time," Lil Nas X says the book will be available Jan. 5 from Random House Kids.
According to the publisher's website, "C is for Country" features Lil Nas X and Panini the pony "on a joyous journey through the alphabet from sunup to sundown." ("Panini is also the name of the rapper's follow-up to "Old Town Road.")
The illustrated book, geared toward children ages 3 to 7, features "plenty of hidden surprises" for Lil Nas X fans and "is a celebration of song and the power inside us all," according to Random House Kids.
The book comes on the (boot) heels of the record-shattering, Grammy-winning "Old Town Road," which spent 19 weeks at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. The collaboration with Billy Ray Cyrus won a CMA Award last year for musical event of the year.
The song also was nominated for music event of the year at this week's ACM Awards but fell to the Miranda Lambert-led "Fooled Around and Fell in Love."
