You can always count on Lil Nas X to nail a fashion assignment.

The "Industry Baby" artist, 25, didn't hold back when choosing his outfit for the 2024 Met Gala, themed “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”

Much like his other Met Gala appearances, Lil Nas X showed out this year, wearing an oversize off-white suit by Luar with shiny silver paneling. The oversize jacket trailed behind him, and he threw it off at one point to continue posing for photos. He also wasted no time in making TikToks on the carpet!

He accessorized with David Yurman jewels, including an 18K white gold bracelet and earrings as well as multiple rings. He also rocked extra long acrylic nails and bleach blond hair. He also wore a custom Jennifer Behr brooch.

At last year's Met Gala — dedicated to the late Karl Lagerfeld — Lil Nas X came dressed as the designer's cat, Choupette. But rather than simply throw on some fur, the musician covered himself in silver paint and crystals.

Lil Nas X worked with makeup artist Pat McGrath for head-to-toe glam and Dior Men for the look for the evening. He wore a silver Dior thong and chunky silver glitter platform boots — with his body covered in silver paint and gemstones from head to toe. His face was covered in silver makeup and tons of gems and pearls that flowed down his neck and onto his chest.

McGrath told Vogue it took nine hours to complete Lil Nas X's outrageous transformation, and yet he managed to look completely fresh-faced by the time the afterparties kicked off just hours later.

Lil Nas X made his Met Gala debut in 2021 where he certainly made a bold entrance. The "Old Town Road" singer took the fashion world by storm that night when he showed everyone that he meant business. He arrived in a gold velvety cloak with a long train, looking like a king as he stepped onto the carpet.

And while this particular look could have easily been a showstopper, it was just the beginning. Lil Nas X then dropped the cape, revealing his second look for the evening: full gold suit of armor underneath. It was complemented by a pair of gold earrings and some subtle gold winged eyeliner.

They say the third time's a charm, though, so he had one more transformation to go. He ditched the suit of armor for one last body-hugging look. For his final look of the evening, the performer wore a fitted, long-sleeve black jumpsuit with a plunging zipper, all covered in sparkling gold jewels. He paired the look with black combat boots and accessorized it with a gold choker.

"How did I decide to get this look? Well, it was about three different looks," he told Keke Palmer on the red carpet during Vogue's livestream. He said after he took off his "armor," he "got to sexy. You know, we got really sexy slutty."
