Lil' Peep's Mother Initially Blamed Management Company For 'Normalizing, Promoting' Drug Use
As we reported, Peep's family sued the management company claiming they provided the up-and-coming rapper with drugs and had control over his personal life. The rapper -- real name Gustav Elijah Ahr -- died on November 15, 2017, at the age of 21. The artist was found unresponsive on his tour bus on a stoop in Arizona. It was one of the final stops on his 'Come Over When You're Sober' tour.
At the time of his death, an autopsy showed that Lil' Peep had lethal levels of fentanyl and Xanax in his system. His mother filed the wrongful death lawsuit in 2019.
The original lawsuit accused the tour company of being "inept" and engaging in conduct that contribute to the rapper's death. Specifically, because drug use on the tour was "allowed, normalized, and even encouraged and promoted." As a result, Peep's mother alleged it pushed her son "to the extreme bounds of what somebody of his age and maturity level could handle emotionally, mentally, and physically."

“Last time I got off the stage, I looked Chester in the face / But now he gone, and ain’t no going back,” Kelly raps, referencing the death of Chester Bennington.
