Lily Gladstone speaks Blackfeet language amid historic Golden Globe win for 'Killers of the Flower Moon'
Lily Gladstone won the Golden Globes for best actress in a drama Sunday night, eliciting cheers from the Hollywood community in attendance at the awards show and from fans online.
Gladstone, an Indigenous actor who was born and raised on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Montana, has won several other awards for her role as Mollie Burkhart in "Killers of the Flower Moon."
Her win in the category makes Gladstone the first Indigenous person to win the award.
"This is for every little (reservation) kid, every little urban kid, every little Native kid out there who has a dream, who is seeing themselves represented and our stories told by ourselves, in our own words with tremendous allies and tremendous trust," she said during her acceptance speech.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone wore pieces honoring Native American tribes
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight reporter Rachel Smith during the program's live program streamed in conjunction with Variety, Gladstone said her earrings were a Blackfeet design by Lenise Omeasoo of Antelope Women Designs. The actress grew up on a Blackfeet reservation in Montana.
Meanwhile, DiCaprio wore an Armani suit with a small pin that had the symbol of the Osage Nation attached.
"The Osage Nation ... we're standing in unison with them for this movie," DiCaprio said.
Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro weren't Golden Globe winners for 'Killers of the Flower Moon' roles
"Killers of the Flower Moon" was nominated for several other awards at the Golden Globes, but didn't win.
Leonardo DiCaprio was nominated for best actor in a drama, Robert De Niro was nominated for best supporting actor, and Martin Scorsese was nominated for best director. The movie's screenplay and score weren't awarded following their nominations, either, and the movie didn't win best picture.
