Live-stream the first 5G-powered fan experience with the Chainsmokers this Friday
Need some unique Black Friday plans for the long weekend? Verizon is teaming with Grammy-winning EDM superstar duo the Chainsmokers to bring the first 5G-powered experience to fans, during a live concert at the Chase Center in San Francisco that will be live-streamed here this Friday, Nov. 29, at 9:15 p.m. PT. (Yahoo is owned by Verizon.)
Using a 5G smartphone, a group of select fans will be able to hold their phone up to the stage and see the Chainsmokers through an augmented reality (AR) lens. This highly interactive, multi-user experience can also allow these fans to play with the objects and also see what others with 5G smartphones are doing. But you can also watch from the comfort of your couch while feasting on leftover-turkey sandwiches — so bookmark this page, and tune in live this Friday night!
Outside of the 5G experience, fans attending the Chainsmokers’s World War Joy performance can download the Chainsmokers x Verizon AR Experience app, which is available now. The 5G-activated performance will be recorded and transformed into a short highlight reel, which fans who have downloaded the app will be able to watch after the show.
