Lockerbie Cast Adds Suits Alum & More to Netflix/BBC Series
The official cast for Netflix and BBC‘s upcoming series adaptation of the Lockerbie bombing incident in 1988 has been announced.
The Lockerbie cast will consist of Patrick J. Adams (Suits), Connor Swindells (Sex Education), Merritt Wever (Unbelievable), Peter Mullan (Ozark), Tony Curran (Mary & George), Eddie Marsan (The Pact), Lauren Lyle (Vigil), Andrew Rothney (The Undeclared War), Phyllis Logan (Downton Abbey), Parker Sawyers (P-Valley), James Harkness (The Sixth Commandment), Khalid Laith (Cobra), and Amanda Drew (The Gold). Production on the drama has just begun in Scotland.

Netflix/ BBC’s Lockerbie adaptation hails from writers Jonathan Lee and Gillian Roger Park. It is executive produced by Simon Heath, Roderick Seligman, Steve Stark, Stacey Levin, Adam Morane-Griffiths, Sara Curran, Herbert L. Kloiber, Michael Keillor, Gaynor Holmes and Joe Hill, with Julia Stannard producing and Michael Keillor directing. It is a production by MGM Television and Night Train Media.
“The six-part series is based on the real events surrounding the 1988 Lockerbie bombing and the joint Scottish-U.S. investigation which sought to bring the perpetrators to justice,” reads the logline (via BBC). “Lockerbie will focus on the investigation into the crash on both sides of the Atlantic and the devastating effect it had on the small town and the families who lost loved ones. From the initial exhaustive search for evidence on the ground in Scotland, via the U.S. and Malta to the trial at Camp Zeist in 2000, the drama takes us right up to the most recent indictment at the end of 2022.”
Besides Netflix and BBC, Sky and Peacock have also partnered to produce their own series adaptation of the Lockerbie bombing. The project is being led by Oscar winner Colin Firth.
