Charlize Theron-Seth Rogen comedy 'Long Shot' hits Blu-ray and digital in July — now with more Canadian jokes (exclusive)
Comedy Long Shot will be released on digital July 16 and hit Blu-ray July 30, Yahoo Entertainment can announce exclusively.
The movie stars Seth Rogen as Fred Flarsky, a hard-partying journalist who finds an unexpected chance to get up close and personal with his teenage crush (Charlize Theron's Charlotte Field) when he's hired as a speechwriter on her presidential campaign.
Directed by Jonathan Levine (50/50, The Wackness), the film was produced by Rogen and his longtime collaborator Evan Goldberg, and the Vancouver natives had to lose one of their favorite Canadian-themed gags in the final cut.
As Goldberg explains in a bonus feature clip (watch above), the character of Canadian Prime Minister (Alexander Skarsg?rd) was loosely based on real-life PM Justin Trudeau — or at least when it came to Trudeau's tendency to say things in English and then immediately repeat them in French (or vice versa).
"As much Canadian humor as we can inject into any movie, we'll inject into a movie," Goldberg says in the clip. "We just thought it was so funny, me and Seth. And slowly but surely we realized only Canadians would find it funny."
But now that they’ve explained the joke, it is pretty hilarious.
Included on the Long Shot home release will be 11 making-of featurettes, including "Epic Flarsky Fails" and "Hanging With Boyz II Men." Pre-order it on Amazon.
