Take a look inside the Humor & Harmony Weekend
The Shreveport Times took a walk around downtown Shreveport Friday night to observe what all Humor & Harmony Weekend had to offer.
The first stop was the Red River District. The entire corridor has been transformed into an active epicenter for the weekend festival. G-Unit has brought in two restaurant/bars and a daiquiri bar.
Dara Mirjahangiry, owner of Sei Less in New York City, spoke with the Shreveport Times about his pop-up restaurant Sei Less, which is in the heart of the Red River District.
"The goal would be to open up a permanent location at some point, but this is kind of our introduction into the market," he said. adding that this weekend has been great so far.
Sei Less is a high-end Chinese infused restaurant in New York City on 38th Street and 7th Avenue. It is known for catering to VIPs.
While in Shreveport, Sei Less will be serving up its signature dishes, such as chicken sauté, salt and pepper lobster, Beijing chicken and chicken wonton dumplings.
Lagos Restaurant and G-Spot Daq2Go are the other two businesses opened this weekend by G-Unit. Along with new places to grab a bite, live music and DJs were set up throughout the night entertaining festival goers.
The Red River District is free and open to the public. Festival goers will have to go through a security checkpoint before entering the area.
Following the tour of the Red River District, the Shreveport Times continued over to Stageworks, where festival goers were lined up to enter the venue.
"It's a girl trip, and this is a once in a lifetime," Gayle McGary said.
She continued by saying she was excited about 50 Cent's Humor & Harmony Weekend Celebrity Basketball Game and would be rooting for the team that had the hottest players.

After checking out Stageworks, the Shreveport Times continued over to 50 Fit, where kids of all ages were playing on bigger than life blowups.
This area will be open Sunday noon to 5 p.m. Children and military get into this area for free.
