Lori Loughlin — who played Dixon and Annie’s mom on CW’s 90210 — is expected to return for the drama’s premiere on Oct. 8. The actress will briefly reprise her role as Debbie Wilson, who supposedly returns to the zip code to check on her son. In last season’s finale, Dixon was involved in a serious car accident on his way to meet Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes).
The news about Loughlin’s return was first reported by TVLine.
The actress left the show in spring of 2011 because there wasn’t much left for her to do. “It is a very big cast and it is hard to service all of us,” she told EW at the time. “The focus of the show is the kids. The parents were essentially there to service the story lines of the kids, and occasionally we got a few separate story lines, but it just wasn’t really working in a way that all of us had enough to do. The CW has a demographic that they appeal to, and they do it very well.”
