“Love Island USA”'s Rob Rausch Says He's 'Shooting' a Music Video with Nessa Barrett (Exclusive)
Following his six weeks in Fiji, Rob Rausch headed straight to the music video shoot with the musician
Love Island USA star Rob Rausch and singer Nessa Barrett are teaming up for her latest project.
After making it to the top six couples on season 6 of the popular reality dating series, Rob, 25, was recently spotted with musician Nessa Barrett. The TV personality exclusively tells PEOPLE that he and the “Pain” singer are “shooting” a music video together.
Rob’s admission follows fan speculation that the pair were working on one of Barrett’s latest songs. Barrett released a new single, "Passenger Princess," on Friday, July 26, but Rob didn't confirm in which music video he'll appear. The 21-year-old singer celebrated the new song with a celebratory Instagram post.
"PASSENGER PRINCESS IS OUT NOW XOXO GO SHAKE ASS TO IT RIGHT NOW MUAH," she wrote.
Although some fans guessed that Rob would appear in a new music video, others wondered if the two were potentially romantically involved.
But Rob exclusively tells PEOPLE, “at this point,” he’s remaining “single.”
“I'm not planning on dating any of the girls from the show,” he explains. “I'm not really planning on dating anyone right now.”
Rob, an original season 6 cast member and a season 5 Casa Amor addition, opens up with PEOPLE about how the two experiences were entirely different. He notes that he felt more like himself during season 5, explaining that this year, he had “no time alone and was constantly dealing with conflict and feelings and other people.”
Throughout the six weeks, he found himself in one love triangle with Leah Kateb and Andrea Carmona — which captured the audience's attention. In the first half of the season, Leah, 24, and Rob were coupled up until he coupled up with new contestant Andrea. But shortly after Andrea entered the villa, she was sent home by the women, ultimately leaving Rob to contend with staying in the villa or going on the outside with Andrea. At the time, he was upset with his fellow Islanders, but he has since “accepted” their decision.
Additionally, he reiterates that although he and Leah were able to withstand the conflict, the two are strictly “just friends,” and “that's all [they’re] going to be.”
“She's in this relationship with Miguel, and that's something that I'm personally rooting for,” he confesses. “I really like Miguel, and I like her, so I want it to work out.”
“It's just putting pressure on them that's just really unnecessary,” he adds. Rob also admits he’s seen the various fan edits of clips of him and Leah, calling out the most recent footage of the cast reuniting at Universal Studios on Thursday, July 25.
As for the group’s reunion, Rob reveals that “it was great to see everybody,” noting how it was “lighthearted fun as friends, which was just great change of pace.” While a few of the castmates reunited last week, they’ll reunite on screen once more when they film the Love Island USA reunion on Monday, Aug. 19.
