Lucien Laviscount, Jameela Jamil, Lukas Gage and Sarah Catherine Hook Join Cast of “People We Meet on Vacation”

The People We Meet on Vacation cast just got bigger!

Jameela Jamil and Lukas Gage have joined the film adaptation of Emily Henry’s bestselling novel, as well as Emily in Paris star Lucien Laviscount and First Kill alum Sarah Catherine Hook, Netflix announced on Wednesday, Sept. 18.

The streamer did not, however, share what roles the actors will be stepping into.

The newcomers join leads Tom Blyth and Emily Bader, who will play the roles of Alex and Poppy in the Brett Haley-directed adaptation, Netflix revealed last month.

As the The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes actor, 29, and My Lady Jane star, 27, joined the cast in August, Henry, 33, revealed that she is very happy with the leads’ casting.

“I’ve been kind of an anxious wreck about who would play these characters,” Henry told Netflix. “I truly could not feel more confident that my readers and then so many more people who don’t even know about the book are going to completely fall in love with Poppy and Alex.”

Henry also revealed that she played a part in choosing Bader and Blyth for the roles.

“I watched their chemistry read four times in 12 hours and I loved it more every single time,” the author said. “The very first time I was laughing out loud, and I got so emotional by the end.”

People We Meet on Vacation follows the reunion of unlikely best friend duo Poppy, an outgoing writer who loves to travel, and Alex, a quiet and introverted high school teacher.

After college (which is where they met) Poppy moved to New York City while Alex stayed in their Ohio hometown, so the only chance they have to see each other each year is their annual week-long trip — until an incident that keeps them from speaking for years.

But Poppy misses Alex, so she asks him on one last vacation, and he accepts.

Including People We Meet on Vacation, adaptations of five of Henry’s books have been greenlit. Screenwriter Yulin Kuang, who is adapting the screenplay for People We Meet on Vacation, will also adapt Beach Read into a movie for 20th Century Studios.

Book Lovers was also confirmed to be getting a movie, while the author herself is writing the movie script for latest novel, Funny Story. Happy Place, meanwhile, was announced to be optioned by Netflix for a series earlier this year, according to Deadline.

People We Meet on Vacation is the only Henry adaptation that currently has a cast attached to it. No release date for the film has been announced yet.
