Lucille Ball’s and Desi Arnaz’s Son Makes Rare Appearance on Social Media With Sister Lucie: See The Sweet Photos and Fan Reactions
Lucille Ball’s children are delighting fans with a rare social media photo together. Lucie Arnaz, 73, the daughter of Ball and late husband Desi Arnaz, shared a sweet sibling photo to Instagram on Saturday, August 3. She posed with her head on the shoulder of her younger brother, Desi Arnaz Jr., 71, as the two softly smiled.
“Thank you, Nick Luckinbill, (mega producer for EDC) for treating your family to a grand meal at Wally’s in Las Vegas, with our special guest, my recalcitrant brother, Desi Arnaz, Jr.!!!,” Arnaz captioned the post. “Desi is alive and well, my friends - just likes to stay a bit ‘undercover.’”
Nick Luckinbill is the son of Lucie’s husband, Laurence Luckinbill. She went on to explain that the family was in Las Vegas as her husband was being honored during the 35th Anniversary celebration of Star Trek V: The Final Frontier at The Treksperts Convention. Laurence had played Spock’s brother, Sybok, in the film.
Lucie also shared that Laurence would be selling and signing copies of his recently released autobiography, Affective Memories: How Chance and the Theater Saved My Life, as well as taking photos with fans and speaking on two panels.
“Then I snuck away to Caesar’s and Joe’s Seafood to join the indomitable Sunny Sessa, her dear Max and our pals, Clint and Kelly Holmes for more stimulating conversation and just a few naughty sweets!!,” Lucie continued. “What smart, interesting, funny, involved and talented and lovable friends and family have I.”

Lucie’s post drew in many adoring reactions from admirers of the late I Love Lucy stars and their children. Quite a few also noted a striking resemblance between Desi Jr. and his father, and stated that they applauded him for living life on his own terms. Desi Jr. has remained mostly out of the spotlight in recent years.
“Warms my heart,” wrote one follower. “Fond memories growing up watching your parents and the both of you.”
“So great to see Desi Jr.!!” said another. “Gosh he still looks so much like your Dad. Thanks for sharing these pics Lucie!”
The lives and careers of Lucie and Desi Jr.
Born into comedy royalty, Lucie and Desi Jr. have been in the public eye basically from the respective days they were born. The two each grew up to have their own successful entertainment careers.
They are the only children shared by Ball and Arnaz, who famously co-starred on I Love Lucy (1951 to 1957) as Lucy and Ricky Ricardo. The two would divorce in 1960, and the actress would go on to star in the series The Lucy Show (1962 to 1968) and Here’s Lucy (1968 to 1974). Lucie and Desi Jr. co-starred with their mother in the ladder.
Lucie is an actress and singer who has made many sitcom guest appearances and starred in The Lucie Arnaz Show (1985) and Sons and Daughters (1991). She made her Broadway debut in February 1979 in the musical They're Playing Our Song, and continued on the stage with performances including Lost in Yonkers, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Pippin. She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in 1981 for her performance in The Jazz Singer.
She and Luckinbill have been married since 1980, and the two share three children.
As for Desi Jr., on the day he was born, Lucy Ricardo gave birth to “Little Ricky” on I Love Lucy. At the age of 12, Desi Jr. began his music career as the drummer for a band named Dino, Desi & Billy.
He could be seen on episodes of The Mothers-in-Law (produced and directed by Desi Sr), The Brady Bunch and The Streets of San Francisco. He received a Golden Globe for New Star of the Year in Red Sky at Morning (1973) and apparead in other films including The Mambo Kings (1992), in which he played his father.
Desi Jr. is a father of two. He married Amy Laura Bargiel in 1987 until she died from cancer in 2015 at 63 years old.
