Ludacris is a music legend known for unique music videos, and has given flowers to an artist he admires for similar efforts. The Atlanta rapper called Childish Gambino’s “This Is America” “one of the dopest videos” he’s ever seen.

“[I’m paying attention to] whatever my man Dave Myers is shooting these days,” Luda told Rolling Stone during a Monday (Dec. 4) interview when asked about visuals he is impressed by. “He’s so dope of a director to me, and I feel like he’s made some extremely creative videos. I’m trying to think what was one of my favorite visual videos over the last… You know what’s crazy? What stands out to me is still that Childish Gambino ‘This is America‘ video. It’s pretty much still one of the dopest videos I’ve seen.”

He claimed that he could watch the video repeatedly. “You’re going to make me watch it once we get off this interview,” he said. “It’s dope. But I’m going to be honest with you, the best visual video that’s out right now or coming on November 24th is this Ludacris State Farm commercial.”

Childish Gambino’s “This Is America” was a topic of conversation earlier this year. The Atlanta actor revealed the record was originally a diss toward Drake. “It started as a Drake diss, to be honest, as like a funny way of doing it,” he said. “But then I was like, this sh*t sounds kind of hard though. So I was like, let me play with it.”

Gambino had previously addressed The 6 God during a 2014 show in Sydney, Australia, claiming that he, Kendrick Lamar, and Schoolboy Q were inferior to him as artists.

The Toronto rapper fired back throughout his It’s All A Blur Tour. Each time he performed the record “Headlines,” a ticker appeared around the border of the stage which read “The overrated and over-awarded hit song ‘This Is America’ was originally a Drake diss record.”
