Luke Perry planned to get married in August, a save-the-date announcement shows

Luke Perry was going to get married this summer.

Just over a week after his sudden death, following a massive stroke, news has surfaced that the Riverdale actor and his fiancée, Wendy Madison Bauer, planned to make it official this summer. TMZ has a copy of what it claims is the couple’s save-the-date announcement.

A gray card was imprinted with the information: “Save the date for the wedding of Luke and Madison, August 17 2019, Los Angeles, California,” adding that a formal invitation would follow.

Perry kept his relationship with Bauer, a former actress turned therapist, largely private, but they walked the red carpet together at the GLAAD Media Awards in April 2017.

Over the weekend, Bauer broke her silence about Perry’s death. “The past 11 1/2 years with Luke were the happiest years of my life, and I am grateful to have had that time with him,” the 44-year-old said in a statement. She also mentioned the “countless, heartwarming stories of Luke’s generosity and kindness,” calling them “a great source of solace during this difficult time.”

Bauer also thanked the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum’s children — Sophie, 18, and Jack, 21 — as well as his family for their love and support. “We have found comfort in one another and in the knowledge that our lives were touched by an extraordinary man,” said Bauer, who was with Perry’s kids, his ex-wife, Minnie Sharp, and the rest of his family at his bedside when he died on March 4.

Perry was married to Sharp from 1993 to 2003. Their daughter Sophie posted a throwback of her parents together and called Sharp the “rock for everybody grieving in this family right now.” A few days later, the teen also took to social media to slam trolls who were grief-shaming her. Sophie wrote that while she is “torn the f*** up over” her father’s sudden death, she’s “not going to sit in my room and cry day in and day out until the internet has deemed it appropriate for me to do otherwise.”
