Lupita Nyong’o Just Made Two Relationship Updates by Stepping Out With This Single Star
The great celebrity breakups of 2023 just experienced a very fascinating twist on Wednesday night at a Janelle Monáe concert in Los Angeles. Lupita Nyong’o was there enjoying the music with a few pals that also included a suddenly single Hollywood actor: Joshua Jackson.
It’s no secret that Jackson recently split with his wife of four years, Jodie Turner-Smith, but fans were wondering why Nyong’o was out on the town without her boyfriend, Selema Masekea. Well, it seems both of the superstars are back on the dating market. After the photos, snapped by TMZ, were released, the Oscar-winning actress made that dreaded breakup announcement — and it was quite the cryptic message.

“There are much more important things going on in the world right now, and my thoughts are with those who are deeply suffering,” she wrote in a lengthy Instagram post. “At this moment, it is necessary for me to share a personal truth and publicly dissociate myself from someone I can no longer trust… I find myself in a season of heartbreak because of a love suddenly and devastatingly extinguished by deception.” She and Masekea are done, and there seems to be more to their story given her hints of infidelity. But in case some of her followers didn’t get the clues, she added the hashtag, “#breakup” in the caption.
TMZ is promising that Nyong’o and Jackson’s night on the town was a group outing and there was “nothing romantic” going on, especially since “they’ve known each other for years.” For now, it’s just two pals who are nursing broken hearts in the public eye, but as we all know, sometimes friends turn out to be the best partners. Let’s keep an eye on these two, just in case sparks do fly.
