Mac Miller's family asks for moment of silence for Pittsburgh during tribute concert
Mac Miller fans were able to honor the late rapper Wednesday night, when the “Mac Miller: A Celebration of Life” tribute concert was live-streamed around the world from Los Angeles.
The concert also marked the launch of the Mac Miller Circles Fund, a charity to “support youth arts and community-building programs in Mac Miller’s memory.”

Some of Miller’s close friends performed at the concert, including Chance the Rapper, who closed with, “God bless you and your family, and god bless this foundation that you built. I hope that it grows even more strong artists and strong relationships,” and John Mayer, who did a cover of Miller’s “Small Worlds.” Other artists included Travis Scott, SZA, Vince Staples, Rae Sremmurd, Ty Dolla $ign, Miguel, and Schoolboy Q.
Zane Lowe, who came onstage to share some touching thoughts about Miller, first asked the audience to share a moment of silence for the victims of the recent synagogue shooting.
“Malcolm McCormick’s family has requested, just as Malcolm would have, that we all take a brief moment of silence to acknowledge those affected by the tragic events in Pittsburgh last week, and to strongly condemn these violent acts that have no place in our communities,” Lowe said.
Fans were deeply moved by the tribute.
