Mac Reacts To Cody’s Confession On July 9 General Hospital

After Cody made an explosive confession during the Fourth of July fireworks on General Hospital, he had to face the wrath of both Mac and Maxie on the July 9, 2024 episode.

Mac (John J. York, who recently returned to GH after his cancer battle) wasn’t too entranced by the fireworks to hear Cody (Josh Kelly) admit, “I’m your son.” But instead of being greeted with open arms, Cody’s confession only angered his father, who wondered why he had kept it a secret for so long.

Cody revealed it was because he had a claim to the Ice Princess necklace as long as he was Leopold Taub’s son. Knowing Cody kept the secret out of greed caused Mac to blow up at him, admitting he opened his family and heart up to him, just for Cody to slam the door in his face.

We Are Family

After Mac told Cody he no longer trusts him, Felicia (Kristina Wagner) found him alone in the Quartermaine Mansion where he revealed the truth to her. She tried telling him about the paternity test she ran, but Mac assured her that Cody was his son and lied about it, leaving him no other choice but to no longer trust him.

Meanwhile, when Maxie (Kirsten Storms) showed up at the stables, Cody decided to confess the truth to his sort-of-sister. And when Cody tried ending things with the family, Maxie stopped him in his tracks. “If you think you’re going to get rid of us that easy, think again.”

This is far from the first time GH has done a father reveal, most memorably when Sonny (Maurice Benard, who recently revealed why he had to leave GH temporarily) learned the undercover cop in his organization, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), was his son mere moments after shooting him.
