Madonna’s 2008 Divorce From Guy Ritchie Reportedly Forever Altered the Way She Sees Relationships

When it comes to love, going through heartbreak is part of the process. After all, so many people need to date their fair share of bad apples to know what they’re actually looking for. For the ultimate Material Girl Madonna, going through her split with Guy Ritchie in 2008 after eight years of marriage was beyond heartbreaking, and she reportedly hasn’t been the same since.

According to a new source for Life & Style, the “Like a Virgin” singer completely changed her outlook on relationships after their divorce. “She vowed never to let her heart get too involved after that because she was crushed by her divorce, so now she treats her love life the same way she would any other business hire,” the source said.

Therefore, with no risk of Madonna ever falling in love or getting too emotionally attached, she sees her boyfriends as, well, perhaps just another person in her posse. “She’s been doing this ever since she and Guy Ritchie split up 20 years ago,” the source said.

Most recently, Madonna has been dating 28-year-old soccer player Akeem Morris.

According to the source, their budding relationship has been quite transactional indeed. “She’s got him working as her assistant, so he’s at her beck and call whenever she needs something done,” the source said. “He runs errands for her and her kids, takes notes if she suddenly has a creative idea or wants an email written, even if it’s in the middle of the night.”

“She’s very strict with everyone in her life and just because he’s sharing her bed he doesn’t get a pass,” the source said. “That means he has to go to sleep when she does, get up when she does, eat the same diet as she does, he’s banned from watching TV and she doesn’t like him to be on his phone unless he’s doing something for her.” Eek!

Before Morris entered the picture, Madonna ended her relationship with Josh Popper, who was her son’s boxing coach, earlier this year. “Madonna took a little bit of a break after she split up with Josh [Popper], but she’s now back to the same old routine where she pretty much auditions guys until she finds the right boy toy,” the source added.

As a reminder, Madonna has six kids: Lourdes Leon, Rocco Ritchie, David Banda, Mercy James and Stella and Estere Ciccone. She shares Rocco and David with her ex, Ritchie.

With so many kids, and such a busy life, it’s no wonder Madonna wants her beau helping out!
