Madonna and Kylie Minogue Team Up for First-Ever Performance Together During Celebration Tour: 'A Long Time Coming'
The pop queens sang together on Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" and Minogue's "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" on Thursday night in Los Angeles
Madonna brought the party to her Celebration Tour with another surprise guest.
On Thursday night, the "Hung Up" singer, 65, invited fellow pop queen Kylie Minogue to the stage during her Los Angeles show at the Kia Forum, where they teamed up for the first time ever to perform two songs together.
"On the subject of survival, I would like to introduce a very special guest who's going to come up here and sing with me. Her name is Kylie Minogue," Madonna told the crowd, who unanimously cheered as the "Padam Padam" artist, 55, appeared onstage to hug the show's headliner in fan-captured footage. "Now this is what we call a survivor, okay?
The Material Girl added: "I'm falling apart. Anyway, it's a privilege for me to be up here singing with you. You are a fighter, too. God bless you. Never give up. You never did."
Melbourne native Minogue then asked the audience how they were doing, saying she felt "amazing."
"This moment has been a long, long, long, long time coming," she said, before Madonna quipped that they hadn't appeared onstage together before because "Australia's far."
Minogue sported a black muscle tee emblazoned with Madonna's name in glittery letters and snakeskin pants as she belted a theatrical, stripped-down rendition of Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive" alongside Madonna, who appeared clad in a tan cowboy hat, black cowboy boots and a black leather jacket with fringe, footage from the venue posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) showed.
The pair also joyfully performed Minogue’s 2001 hit “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head" a cappella, per footage from Kia Forum on X.
After the show, Minogue shared an Instagram video of her dancing to "Ray of Light" throughout the aisles of the event space, alongside the caption, "MADONNA ?? It’s been a long time coming!!! LOVED being with you!!!! Celebration Tour AND it is now International Women’s Day …. THANK YOU and LOVE LOVE LOVE."
