Madonna paid tribute to her brother Christopher, who died from cancer earlier this month, by visiting his grave in Michigan on Friday.

The mega pop star documented her trip via Instagram Stories as she went to Calvary Cemetery in Kawkawlin, Michigan, with her daughter Lourdes. On a picture of Christopher’s green marble gravestone, Madonna wrote “Homecoming……….”

The singer also shared pictures of red roses that she left at the cemetery and a picture of herself kneeling next to the grave of her mother, Madonna Fortin Ciccone, who passed away at age 30 in 1963.

Another post showed a black and white video of Madonna next to her mother’s grave with Christopher in the frame. She added the caption, “Life is a Circle.”

To complete the trip, Madonna shared a picture of herself posing outside of her grandmother’s Michigan home. “When I was little, I thought my Nanoos house was a mansion!” she wrote.

Following the Oct. 4 death of her brother, who was 63, Madonna posted an emotional tribute on Instagram.

"My brother Christopher is gone," she wrote. "He was the closest human to me for so long Its hard to explain our bond but it grew out of an understanding that we were different and society was going to give us a hard time for not following the status quo.

"We took each other‘s hands and we danced through the madness of our childhood In fact dance was a kind of superglue that held us together,” she continued. “Discovering Dance in our small Midwestern town saved me and then my brother came along, and it saved him too."
