June "Mama June" Shannon recently opened up about her weight loss journey, revealing that she lost 30 pounds in two months since starting to use the weight loss medication tirzepatide, also known by the brand name Mounjaro.
The reality star spoke about her decision to try the popular medication during a visit to Page Six, saying that she was "originally against it because I had a gastric sleeve."
“But now, I’m in week nine and you can ask the girls — I am so super strict," she went on, referring to her daughters Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon and Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird, who joined their mother when she spoke with the publication.
June added that she goes to the gym a few times a week and eats a protein-packed diet, saying, "I probably lost 30 pounds in like eight-and-a-half weeks."
Page Six and June also shared a video from her visit on social media, and she looked fantastic wearing a coral-colored short-sleeved jumpsuit as she danced and laughed with her husband, Justin Stroud.
The caption read, "When you find someone that matches your freak @mamajune ?? @officialsmallz1."
Fans complimented the Mama June: Family Crisis star, with comments like, "Looking good Mama!! Love you! ??," and "OMG!!!! June you look good."
While June was very positive about continuing with the medication and weight loss, her daughter Lauryn shared some concerns about the situation.
“I just feel like every other time mom has lost weight so quickly, she’s gained it back, plus more each time. You know?” she explained. "She didn’t eat right, she didn’t go to the gym. She just was like, ‘f— it, I’ll get another surgery.'”
But June appeared determined to stick with it this time and noted that she has been very transparent with fans about her journey on social media, posting frequent updates noting her struggles and pushing forward.
