Marco Antonio Solis Brings Out Lucero, Jesse & Joy and More at 40th Anniversary Concert in L.A.
Dressed in black pants and a bright pink suede blazer, a cheerful Marco Antonio Solís appeared onstage at the Staples Center for his special, sold-out concert celebrating 40 years in music.
“I’ve done the math and it doesn’t make sense to me, since I’m only 43 years old,” joked the Michoacán-born singer-songwriter who kicked off his show with a powerful message of unity. “We don’t want walls that separate us, we want bridges that unite us,” Solís said in a video featuring Republican nominee Donald Trump — causing an uproar from the crowd. “Minds separate us, souls unite us. Music unites us too.”

The first few songs, a mix of oldies with classics and upbeat tracks, including “Necesito una compa?era,” “Antes de que te vayas,” “Se va muriendo mi alma” and “Morenita,” set the tone for the rest of the night where Solís serenaded the crowd with his timeless tunes. “Step by step, without running, I arrived to this platform that one day seemed so far away and high. But I am here with your love, celebrating 40 years in music. I have two words for you: eternally grateful,” the chart-topping artist told the crowd.
As expected, Solís had a parade of surprise guests joining him onstage throughout the night. First up was his daughter Beatriz Adriana Solís, who sang “Mi nueva historia” with her dad. Joining the father-daughter duets, the singer’s other two daughters, Alison and Marla Solís, interpreted “Extra?ándote” and “No puedo olvidarlo.”
Brother and sister duo Jesse & Joy gave their rendition of the classic “Recuerdos, tristeza y soledad.” “It’s an honor to be here tonight. Congratulations on your 40 years in music.”
The duets continued with Mexican singer and actress Lucero, who performed “La pareja ideal” with Solís while Ana Bárbara gave an emotional performance of “Cómo me haces falta.”

“Everything is possible in this life because I come from a very small pueblo in Michoacán but I always had the intention to do something in life. And I never thought I would get this far … I’m very happy to share with you this very special moment in my heart. Thank you Los Angeles, California, for all your support.”
