Maren Morris files for divorce from Ryan Hurd after 5 years of marriage
Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd have ended their country music romance.
After five years of marriage, the Grammy-winning singer, 33, filed for divorce on Oct. 2 from her singer-songwriter husband, 36, according to documents obtained by The (Nashville) Tennessean, part of the USA TODAY Network.
The filing states the couple, who live in Nashville, has been separated since the early October date.
Morris filed for divorce due to the couple's "irreconcilable differences" and "are unable to live together successfully as husband and wife," according to divorce complaints filed in Davidson County and obtained by The Tennessean. Additionally, the two have a prenup in place.
Morris took an online parenting seminar for divorcing parents, a court-approved parent education and family stabilization course, according to additional documents obtained by The Tennessean. The couple cannot move their child from their Tennessee home until the divorce is finalized – a standard protocol for divorce in Tennessee.
The couple, after first meeting while writing Tim McGraw's 2014 track "Last Turn Home," began dating in 2015 and married in 2018 in Nashville.
The country power couple welcomed their first child, 3-year-old Hayes Andrew Hurd, in 2020.
Morris and Hurd have worked together on their own projects, from Morris' first studio album to their first duet, the 2021 track "Chasing After You," which was nominated for a Grammy award for best country duo/group performance.
The duo also collaborated on Morris' 2022 single "I Can't Love You Any More."
Morris, an award-winning country and pop vocalist, released her recent EP "The Bridge" in September, including hits "The Tree" and "Get the Hell Out of Here." The award-winning country and pop star vocalist Maren Morris is currently working on her fourth studio album. Morris is also known for her vocal disapproval of her country music peers.
Hurd released "Pelago," his debut studio album, in 2021, which includes the certified platinum track, "Chasing After You."
